The Slow Schoolhouse — First Circle
A collective learning experiment by 4D Community
The Slow Schoolhouse is a 4D Community experiment in collective learning. One circle at a time. A small committed group — 8 to 12 people — picks one topic and spends six weeks learning together.
If you want to know where this comes from, please visit the substack article where we described it all: part 1, part 2 and part 3 covering the proposal.
How it works
- Week 1: The group agrees on the specific focus and curates readings together
- Weeks 2–5: 2–3 hours of individual preparation + 1 hour of live discussion per week
- Week 6: Collective reflection and a short written output
- Final outcome: The group organizes one 4D Conversation and invites a speaker on the topic
This is a real time commitment — roughly 3–4 hours per week. We are not pretending otherwise.
Collective learning is the hypothesis we want to test. Join us for the first circle.
